Category Grade Roll Ups

If you are viewing data for more than one grading period and the grading periods are weighted, you should know the following about how the system computes the category grade in this situation:

First, the system adds the POINTS EARNED in one category on assignments that were due during a weighted grading period. Then, the system divides this total by the points that were possible to get a CATEGORY AVERAGE for one weighted grading period. Then, this CATEGORY AVERAGE is multiplied by the grading period’s weight to get a WEIGHTED CATEGORY AVERAGE. The system repeats this process for the same category for the other weighted grading periods. All of these WEIGHTED CATEGORY AVERAGES are then added together to obtain the CATEGORY GRADE that is shown in this section.
